Going Away Party!

Yesterday I spent the afternoon at a friend's house to spend time with some of my friends before I leave. What a blast! It had rained a little earlier that afternoon, but by the time everyone showed up it was a sunny and perfect afternoon for swimming. Then we rode around on the golf cart, which is always an adventure! By the time we had gotten back to the house, her dad had finished grilling BBQ chicken and her mom had finished all the rest of the fixings. It was all sooo delicious! One friend had surprise me with a going away cake, complete with a model semi truck. Even though we were all stuffed, we had to cut into it soon after we finished eating. Then it was time to watch 'The Dark Crystal.' The best cheesy 80's fantasy movie of all time, or at least one of them! Not only were we cracking up at the movie, but at our own running commentary. By the time we had finished the movie, our giggle-fest, swimming, and eating had worn us out and we all fell into a sugar induced sleep from the cake. Fun times were had by all!

New Beginnings

I’m starting this blog to keep in touch with friends and family and to document what’s going on in my life as I start a new journey. I recently went on a six week trip with my boyfriend, who is an otr (over the road) truck driver. I decided to ride with him for a while as a way for us to spend some more time together since we have a bit of a long distance relationship because of his job. We will reach our 3 year anniversary in July this year and we both wanted to have the time together to make sure our relationship was going where we thought it was. Also, to make sure we wouldn’t kill each other if we were together for more than a few days at a time. haha At the end of the six weeks it had brought us closer and gave me a taste of what his job and life on the road is like. Much to my surprise I actually had a blast for the most part. And not just because I was with my bf, but because I loved being out on the road and seeing new places. I love to travel and experience new things but have never really had much of a chance to do so.  I’ve worked in the spa/cosmetic industry as an Esthetician for about 5 years now. As much as I love it, and makeup will always be one of my passions, its time for a change. So after much thought, consideration, and talking with my bf, I’ve decided to go to school to get my cdl and go team drive with my bf. Yes, the makeup maven will become a trucking diva! I’m excited and nervous at the same time, but mostly excited. I’ll be blogging about my experience in becoming a truck driver (so weird to say that!), makeup, random thoughts and everything else that I’m interested in or feel like sharing. I can’t wait to start this new part of my life and share it with you!
